Keep It Cool & Clean This Summer

Summer’s great for BBQs, pool parties, and unfortunately, leftover pollen, mildew, and spider webs. If your siding looks like it’s been through a dust storm, don’t worry—we’ve got you.

This month, we’re talking DIY tips to help you keep your home's exterior looking sharp without needing to hire anyone (yet!).

Summer DIY Exterior Cleaning Tips:

Sweep Weekly: With Greenville’s mix of pine and oak trees, expect a steady fall of debris. Use a stiff broom to keep dust, leaves, and cobwebs off porches, siding, and soffits.

Garden Hose Rinse: Attach a wide spray nozzle to your hose and rinse down siding weekly. Avoid narrow streams—those can force water behind your siding, which leads to mold and rot.

White Vinegar Magic: For mildew on walkways or fences (a common issue with our summer humidity), mix equal parts water and white vinegar in a spray bottle. Let it sit 15 minutes and rinse off. (Wear gloves!)

Leaf Blower Trick: Use a handheld blower to dislodge webs and debris from window corners and door frames.

Still looking dingy? That’s where we come in with our soft washing systems.

Ask Mav:

Q: “Can I use bleach to clean my siding?”

A: Bleach can work—but it’s also risky! It can kill plants, discolor trim, and weaken your siding over time if not used correctly. We use industry standard cleaning agents designed specifically for your home exterior.
