What is Soft Washing?

Soft washing is a low-pressure cleaning technique that uses specialized solutions to break down dirt, grime, mold, mildew, and algae. Unlike traditional pressure washing, soft washing relies on the chemical action of cleaning agents rather than high water pressure to achieve a deep clean, which results in a longer lasting clean finish.

The Soft Washing Process

Our soft washing process involves the following steps:

  1. Assessment: We carefully evaluate your property to determine the appropriate strength of our cleaning solution based on the type of surface.

  2. Application: Using low-pressure nozzles (typically under 500 PSI), we apply a custom-blended, biodegradable cleaning solution to the surface.

  3. Dwell Time: We allow the solution to sit briefly, giving it time to break down contaminants and kill organic growth at the root.

  4. Gentle Rinse: We then rinse the surface with low-pressure water to remove the loosened dirt and cleaning solution.

What is Pressure Washing?

Pressure washing, or “power washing”, involves using a high-pressure cold water spray to clean surfaces. This works well for concrete and other hard surfaces. NOT home sidings, roofs, or wood surfaces.

Our Safe Pressure Washing Process

  1. Assessment: Before any work begins, we assess the surfaces to determine the appropriate pressure settings and cleaning solutions. This ensures we use the right technique for each area without causing any damage.

  2. Controlled Pressure Application: Our trained technicians adjust the pressure settings based on the surface type. For delicate materials like wood or painted surfaces, we’ll utilize soft washing techniques that apply lower pressure while still achieving excellent results.

  3. Thorough Cleaning: We systematically clean all targeted areas, ensuring no spots are missed. Our team pays attention to detail to guarantee a pristine, clean, finish.

The value of fence staining

Staining creates a barrier that prevents moisture penetration, UV damage, and other harmful elements that can degrade wood over time, while also enhancing the natural colors and grain of the wood.

The Mav’s Fence Staining Application Process

  1. Upon quote request, our customers have the opportunity to browse our catalog to make a color selection of their choice. Have your own stain/sealant? We’ll gladly apply it.

  2. Surface Preparation: OLD fences require a thorough cleaning to remove contaminates from the surface of the wood. Following the fence wash, we require the wood to dry for 48 hours.

  3. Timing: For NEW fences, we recommend waiting 4-8 weeks after installation for new wood (12 weeks for pressure-treated wood) before staining.

  4. Application: We carefully apply the stain using professional-grade equipment, ensuring even coverage along the fence.

  5. Drying: Allow proper drying time based on the stain type before exposure to moisture.
